Hugo: Gets a bit lonely around here, doesn’t it?
"…! Sometimes, but I do enjoy the silence." Riff answered. "Hello, mate. I assume you heard about Salvatore?"
"That I have, not that it matters to me." he said, disappearing, then reappearing on the ceiling. "I’ve my own agenda."
"He’s William’s twin brother, mate. I know you’re busy, but can’t you spare some time at least talk to them?" Riff kept her eyes locked on him. "Will wants vengeance against him, and I’m assisting him with it."
Hugo chuckled. “Oh Riff, you don’t get it, do you?” he said as his head popped off and fell to the floor. “I’m not really busy, I just don’t care. I stopped caring about them and, and everything else, centuries ago.” His body walked down the wall, back on to the floor, and picked up his head. “Let my big brothers have their little tiff. I’ll enjoy watching the fireworks.”
She was unfazed by this, growling. “What happened to you? They’re your family! You have to care for them! Not let them tear at their throats!” She grabbed Hugo by the neck tightly. “William told me everything about you going mental with your powers.”
Hugo snapped his fingers and was suddenly behind her. “You know, you sound like everyone else I’ve talked to about this. It’s always the same. ‘You should care about your family’. But you know what, caring for others has brought me nothing but stress and misery. I’m much happier now than I’ve ever been ‘caring for someone, and really, that’s all that matters.”
"Still, it doesn’t matter if they give you pains from time to time! Family is forever! No matter what!" Riff turned to face him, snarling. "And if you won’t accept that…" She drew out her hidden blade. "Then I’ll make you accept it!"
"Ooh, I’m soo scared." he mocked. "Please, your little toys don’t scare me." He conjured up a glass of soda to drink. "Besides, I couldn’t help you even if I wanted to."
"And why’s that?" She walked over to him, tip of the blade at his throat.
He sighed. “Alright, I’ll tell you, but don’t say I don’t do you any favors.” He took a deep breath, and went back up on the ceiling. “When my brother was cursed, a single item on his body was used to entrap everything that made him human. This is why he looked so monstrous, even before he became a corpse. He found out what item it was, and hid it somewhere. The only way to defeat him is to use an Olympian to destroy the object, free his humanity, and break the curse. Unfortunately, someone found it, and stole it, now no one knows where this item is, not even the Olympians.”
She registered this. “Hm… If it’s found, it can stop Salvatore?” This sacred item might give William the upper hand.
"Yes, yes. Will has been looking for it for years." said the trickster, slightly irritated. "But like I said, it was hidden, than stolen. No one knows where it is." Hugo than made his way off the ceiling. "Have fun helping Will on his pointless little scavenger hunt." He then disappeared into the wall.
She only grinned in thought. Pointless? Nope, just another test of deductive reasoning. Whatever this item was, she would find it!
